water
did you know?
the production of a single handbag can require around 2,000 litres of water.
the textile industry consumes roughly 4% of the world’s drinking water each year — the equivalent of 37 million Olympic swimming pools.
textiles are among the largest users of this “blue gold”, just behind wheat and rice cultivation. demand is so high that rainfall alone is not enough; water must also be drawn from rivers, lakes, and groundwater.
at prunabags, we’re here to change that.

that’s why we upcycle fabric scraps, samples, and offcuts from the textile industry — giving them a new life and avoiding the need to use thousands of litres of water that would otherwise be required to produce a handbag from scratch.
